A day at home..

Being a boarder, home can sound like a very close synonym for heaven. Not that being a hostler or boarder is all bad stuff, still, its good to be on a break. So, after getting a breather from the scheduled days of hostel, home brings in the late hours of sleep, and some more sleep, mouth-watering home delicacies, and obviously- internet, more precisely, social networking. The thing is, back at hostel, we are allowed an hour of once in a week net browsing which has to be exclusively for educational purposes, and that's an equivalent of no facebook, instagram and so on. The kids at India are fostered with loads of care and every mother thinks, no matter how skinny or fat the child is, that the kid needs to eat more. You are showered time to time with different things, which sometime are difficult to fit in our limited appetite. Furthermore, the reason you are back at home is either its summer/winter vacation time, or a festival. This time I am back for Holi- the festival of colours. The rev up red, youthful yellow, garish and gay green, brilliant blues or the peppy purple, the air is a myriad mix of shades of joy and vigour. It is also the post-exam and pre-school reopen gap. Something like the pre-new session break. The best part is that you are completely bereft of any sorts of school work or studies, becuase finally, after an year of thriving, you have completed, passed, a class or say, grade. As for me, class 10th is over, and for the cbse (central board for secondary education) students, this is the time of a major choice. The first step, that defines our careers in later years. The student is supposed to choose from the science (including physics, chemistry, maths/biology), commerce( includes subjects like accounts, economics, buisiness studies etc), and the humanities stream (history, psychology etc are part of this one). While many of us are sure of our choices, some like me are in a mess about the same. However, we do have counsellors to our aid. I have already undergone he test and stuff and am currently awaiting the report, i.e. the career profile, with our interests, suitable options and such details. So, guess will keep it at that for the day, see you tomorrow.
